A day in Bracebridge (Muskoka), ON…one of my favourite places on Earth!

First and foremost, she LOVES a farmers market and to my most pleasant surprise, the Bracebridge Farmers Market was taking place in Memorial Park at the top of Manitoba Street. The Market runs each Saturday, 8:30 to 1:30 pm from the first Saturday in June, until the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend.

Secondly, some of the most delicious vendors were there! I sampled some ‘Sun Butter’ cookies which were a delicious alternative to Peanut Butter or Nut cookies from Obviously Plant Based Foods in Hunstville, ON!

Then I made my way to, Bruno’s Bakery & Cafe from Innisfil, ON – their table full of gorgeous & fluffy baked goods absolutely drew me in. I was in a savoury mood and Silvia knew exactly what I needed. I happily ended up with a Spanakopita, a Cheddar Scone, a Jalapeano & Sun-dried Tomato Focaccia, and a Rosemary Focaccia. YES PLEASE!
I would have taken photos but I ate most of it before I could get to that.

And then I saw the sign…and it opened up my eyes, ‘Caramelized Onion Cheddar’…I saw the sign, and it opened up my mind, ‘Haloumi Grilling Cheese’ – Cosmo from Cosmo’s Smoked Meats knows exactly WHAT IS UP! Although I’m a vegetarian and this is a smoked meats shoppe…cheese.

Now that my bag was full of treats, I was able to continue my way down Manitoba Street and make my mandatory stops:

Next up, a short drive to Gravenhurst, ON to Muskoka Boat Rentals! We rented a pontoon boat for a couple hours and made our way around Lake Muskoka. It was a gorgeous day and the lake was perfect – people were parasailing, sea-dooing, boating, fishing, and enjoying the day! Shout-out to Brandon and the rest of the team for the awesome customer service and assistance.

A short walk down the beautiful boardwalk was Dock of the Bay, Steak & Seafood Grille, where I ate some of the most delicious Fettuccine Verde & Bruschetta – these were some of the few vegetarian options but totally worth it!

Dessert was another short walk away at Polar Dip Ice Cream Shoppe. This was a perfect way to end the day – Moose Tracks ice cream in a waffle cone! Then it was time to hit the road and make our way back home.

BUT, the fun doesn’t stop there…on the South side of Highway 11 is The Candy Shoppe – there used to be two locations on both sides of the Highway but now the North side hosts Candy Rush (obviously stopped there too and filled up my bag with all of the Reese treats). The Candy Shoppe is the OG of the stores – full of so many candy options you didn’t even know existed, fun trinkets, and treats from around the world. You absolutely need to stop and check them out! No trip up North is complete without a stop at The Candy Shoppe.

Then, the fun ended and back in Toronto I was. Full of sugar and totally sunburnt yet, completely happy.
